Happy Saturday my friends! The weekend is here at last. As I sit and type this I am actually watching the sun gloriously peek his head over the horizon to say hello. It is promising to be another fine weekend.

RECIPE || Star Anise Christmas Cupcake
Hello Lovelies. How was Christmas? We had such a wonderful time with my parents and all of our chickies at home in the nest, including our sweet granddaughter who was undoubtedly the star of the show. As we all sat around the dinner table, my husband noted that there were four generations of family together. How good is that? We are blessed indeed.
Mama Bear
Hello dear ones and thank you for joining me here in my happy place for my final blog post of 2017. It’s been such a great year and I want to thank all of you for popping in to visit my kitchen, my family, my home and my heart. I am honoured to have you come and sit with me a while and share in my fanciful creations.
A Colourful Christmas dessert table
Good morning dear ones, are you getting excited about Christmas yet?
Today we broke out Bing Crosby’s Christmas carols which I freely confess caused a little flutter of the heart as I sighed out loud. Apart from being a baking stylist’s dream, Christmas really is a special time for me. I love everything about it. The music, food, presents (gift giving is wayyy up there in my love language), hustle and bustle and even the tacky store decorations…..well, maybe except tinsel…..yeah, I don’t like tinsel.
Brush Strokes Cake
Good morning Lovelies, how was your week? I hope you are all able to take some time out over the weekend just to be still and breathe. Life surely runs at a hectic pace these days with barely a moment to stop and think a whole thought (or type a whole sentence!) These kiddies certainly keep me on my toes. Bless their dear hearts.
On baby showers & becoming a grandmother {Part 1}
Hello dear ones, I’m so glad you are here. Thanks for popping over. I want to tell you a story. A story about a new chapter in the book of my life, and oh the pages smell sweet.
A modern, mostly monochromatic donut bar & dessert table
Good morning Lovelies. Another glorious day here in paradise. What are you up to this weekend? We might take the kiddies for a swim in the lake before I decorate my orange and poppyseed cake for church tomorrow. I am thinking of doing more succulents, just because I want to and they are way too much fun.
Flower Garden Cookies & Motherhood Musings
Oh hello dear readers, and by golly it’s good to be here. I don’t know how your week has been, but boy oh boy this mothering thing has all been a bit more, how shall we say….testy than normal lately.
(insert sigh and forced grin).
Retro Spring Brunch
I recently read somewhere that orange is the new black. I don’t really like black but I’m happy to hear that orange is now fashionable. I have a bit of a bower bird attraction to retro orange and am guilty of collecting more than a few funky pieces. Last year I styled a rustic orange baby shower and since then I have longed to create a fabulous retro orange bridal shower using my vintage kitchenalia. If there are any adventurous brides out there who would like a quirky retro kitchen bridal shower, let me know!
Rustic Horse Party
What a wonderful afternoon we had a few weeks ago for my daughter’s 11th birthday. Last year she had her first ever birthday party, which was a spectacular Vintage Rainbow theme. This year, with a bit of encouragement from Mama Bear, she chose to have a horse party. She is animal crazy, and I love the idea of a rustic horse theme. Of course, to make it authentic, we needed to find somewhere to give the kiddies a horse ride. My expectations were blown out of the water by Jo and her amazing team from Seahorses Byron Bay. They provide up to ten beautiful horses for guests to enjoy. Even young children can groom and feed the horses before going on a spectacular ride along the glorious beach of Brunswick Heads.
