Happy Saturday my friends! The weekend is here at last. As I sit and type this I am actually watching the sun gloriously peek his head over the horizon to say hello. It is promising to be another fine weekend.

RECIPE || Best ever Chocolate & Peanut butter cake
Good morning dear ones, how’s life in your neck of the woods? We had our first rain in three months this week, which was like nectar from heaven. Apart from the obvious benefits to a thirsty garden, I just love rainy days in the holidays as they give you an excuse to stay indoors and bake, read, stitch, eat, watch a movie or just sit and take things easy for a bit. It’s like you have universal permission to blob on the lounge and just breathe, without the guilt. I like that. Sometimes life needs to slow down a little.
Rustic lace baby shower
As most of you are aware, designing and styling baby showers is one of my all time favourite creative pursuits. New life just grabs me every time. There is such diverse styling potential for each shower, and opportunity to reflect the personality of each precious mama to be.
Snickers cake monstrosity.
If cake could talk, then I guess this monstrous volcano of messy ganache and sticky caramel might just give away the level of stress I was experiencing while trying to bring this misguided explosion to life. It wasn’t really meant to look like this. I had a plan. My plan didn’t look like this. My plan was neater. The caramel sauce would drizzle evenly down the sides, like it does for all of those amazing bakers with fabulously successful blogs. The ganache was going to be smooth and sleek, not lumpy after the second failed attempt (!) My salted caramel Tim Tam pops were going to be deliciously dipped into the perfectly textured caramel sauce.

Bounty cupcakes
I think Chocolate and coconut might be my new favourite combination. I played around with this recipe, testing it on a few unsuspecting willing friends. The results were more than I could have hoped for. One friend loved them so much that he thought they were an 11/10 and the cupcake was outstanding in it’s own right even without the frosting. Be warned though, they are very rich and decadent. These are for the true die hard chocolate lovers who would NEVER consider leaving a scrap of ganache or cupcake crumb behind on the the plate!!!
