Hello Dear Ones, how was your week? We had a bit of drama yesterday with one of our daughter’s taking a lovely ambulance ride to hospital with the most chronic migraine I have ever seen. Poor love, this one is our quiet, steady soul and to see her so distressed was quite unnerving.
Vintage Cactus Party
Hello dear ones. Happy Spring!! What better way to celebrate the arrival of this floral season than sharing my vintage cactus party with you. This was actually my daughter’s tenth birthday party late last year. After much deliberation, and yes I confess, perhaps even a persuasive word from Mama bear, we decided upon a cactus theme. I wanted to keep the colours bright and fresh, using crisp apple green and lolly pink, with white accents.

Hello sweet friends. How was your week? I have been enjoying making delicious raw food treats for a change. While I am definitely a cake and cupcake girl at heart, at home we eat healthier treats and I am no stranger to raw food. Last week I tried my hand at this delicious Raw Vegan Fudge from Minimalist Baker. WOW! It was amazing. I wonder if any of you made it?

Last weekend we headed to the city for our darling granddaughter’s 1st birthday. Oh my heart, she is such a joy. Miss Miriam is one special little girl with five doting aunties meeting her every whim. It’s delightful watching bubby interact more with them now that she is getting older. You can read my thoughts on becoming a grandmother for the first time and check out the woodland baby shower I created here.
Beauty from Ashes
Good morning dear ones. I have been looking forward to sharing this photo shoot with you for a very long time. It literally grew out of the ashes of a dangerous bush fire near our local beach village in the peak of a stifling Summer last January. The flames came perilously close to homes, although thankfully all were spared.

Well a big hello my Lovelies! How’s things?
I know it was a couple of months ago now, but who watched the Royal Wedding? Sigh. Wasn’t it just gorgeous!?
RECIPE || Blueberry & Lemon Cupcakes
Hello Lovelies, how was your weekend? Thanks for your patience with this week’s blog post. On Friday night as visitors arrived and I was doing last minute party prep, our water pump decided to have a little tantrum and stop working! My sink was full to the brim with dirty dishes, we hadn’t had dinner, bath or showers, and most shockingly, I had no water for my afternoon cup of tea! ( yes, I know) We had to meet clients at 7pm to load my party gear at the venue and finish up sorting flowers. It was a big night, which left literally zero time to work on my recipe. So, a heartfelt thanks for your patience. x
Candied Pears
Hello lovely ones. How’s things? Thankfully life settled down for us this past week. Our dear young people have gone home and with two of our girls away at camp, we downsized for a few days, enjoying a well earned rest. Not for long though, as I am hosting a tea party for 34 ladies next weekend in a local country hall. It will be a delightfully vintage affair and I can’t wait to show you a few pieces I have been working on, particularly a hand sewn backdrop made from embroidered linen, vintage tablecloths and doilies.
Chasing Winter {Part 3}
Good morning Lovelies. Boy! What a week. It certainly has been huge and to be honest, I am doing well to get this post done. You may have seen on my Instagram stories that I helped a friend with her daughter’s wedding last weekend. It was the cutest ‘Brambly Hedge’ country wedding and I was honoured to be a part of the styling, set up and desserts. Keep an eye out for photos.
Chasing Winter {Part 2}
As dawn breaks I hasten down the stairs, out into the crisp new morning. I am eager to relive my college days when I would go jogging through the chilly streets of Armidale in the early hours, relishing time alone and the break from busy dorm life. Well, thirty years and nine children later I’m not exactly running out the door, (although perhaps I should be), but with no less enthusiasm I grab my camera and two willing daughters, determined to show them the wonders of winter as I remember it.
